1. Get going with social media already.
You are missing the boat and selling yourself – and your practice – short. Like get a clue already, short!
If you are not socially engaged with your patients, staff, local media outlets, neighboring businesses, suppliers, vendors, dental schools, CE providers, colleagues, friends, families, and the surrounding community at large, you are missing out on gross production increasing OPPORTUNITY.
2. Conduct a ‘SWOT Analysis’ all of your existing dental practice marketing.
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats – write them down; then analyze, quantify, qualify, and identify the winners and losers.
3. Cut the cord on any practice marketing not delivering consistent ROI.
Of course, we’re talking about dental marketing that has been active for at least 12 months, and is NOT producing a positive ROI, ROE, or upping your digital dental marketing IQ.
Any marketing requires TIME to deliver, don’t make the top 2 dental marketing mistakes of not giving things enough time, and not tracking results!
And why make 2012 another year to go half-ass at anything!?!
Keep what’s working…or what you believed in enough to start but hasn’t had the time to produce yet, and cut the rest.
4. STOP paying the phone book company an arm & a leg.
You could gaining many more visible digital eyeballs on your dental practice for a tenth of the monthly price!
The times they are a changin’…when is the last time you looked up ANYTHING in a phone book?
It’s a DEAD medium, stop throwing money in a sinking vessel! (yeah, we said it)
Have your practice listed, that’s it – and don’t fall for the newest latest greatest online wheelbarrow of BS they’ll try to sell you in response to your reduction in billing.
Phone books they do well…digital dental practice marketing…not so much.
5. Get your dental practice listed with EVERY local search and review portal in existence!
Solidify Google Places, Yahoo Local, Bing Local, Mapquest listings and profiles…then educate yourself to get listed amongst the 100+ other local business and online review sites out there.
Dental Marketing & Patient Communications both NEED to go Social, Local, and Mobile in 2012!!
The smart (read: successful in a down economy) dentists have already done ALL of this…in 2011, the leaders did it in 2010.
These are now the same practices touting their increase in production despite the down economy!
